Pendampingan Penalaran Matematika dan Pengetahuan Kuantitaif Peserta Pintar Raharja Menuju Seleksi Nasional Berdasarkan Tes

Abstract

The National Test-Based Selection (Seleksi Nasional Berdasarkan Tes—SNBT) is one of the primary admission pathways to Indonesian public universities, emphasizing applicants' reasoning, literacy, and problem-solving abilities. Among the assessed components, Mathematical Reasoning and Quantitative Knowledge remain challenging for many candidates because they require logical and analytical thinking, as well as the ability to interpret quantitative information accurately. To address this challenge, the PINTAR RAHARJA Program implemented an intensive residential mentoring model that integrated conceptual reinforcement, structured problem-solving exercises, academic discussions, and continuous learning assistance. This community service program aimed to enhance participants' competence in solving Mathematical Reasoning and Quantitative Knowledge problems as preparation for the 2026 SNBT. The program was conducted over four weeks and involved 50 senior high school, vocational high school, and Islamic senior high school students from various schools across Riau Province. The instructional strategies consisted of interactive lectures, demonstrations, guided practice, and group discussions, while participants' learning outcomes were evaluated using pretests and posttests. The findings revealed that the mean score increased from 35.70 on the pretest to 55.10 on the posttest, representing an improvement of 19.40 points. Furthermore, the N-Gain score was 0.30, indicating a moderate level of improvement. In addition, 17 participants (34%) were successfully admitted to public universities through the 2026 SNBT pathway. These findings indicate that the intensive residential mentoring program made a positive contribution to improving participants' Mathematical Reasoning and Quantitative Knowledge skills while strengthening their academic readiness for the SNBT.
