Conflict of Interest
Jurnal Pengabdian Pendidikan Masyarakat is committed to upholding the principles of transparency and the highest standards of publication ethics at every stage of the scholarly publishing process. Accordingly, authors, reviewers, and editors are required to disclose any actual or potential conflicts of interest that may affect, or be perceived to affect, the objectivity, independence, and integrity of scholarly work.
Definition of Conflict of Interest
A conflict of interest occurs when an individual's personal, financial, academic, or professional interests have the potential to influence their judgment, decisions, or actions concerning a scholarly manuscript. Such conflicts may include, but are not limited to, the following:
· Financial interests, including employment relationships, research grants, consultancy activities, stock ownership, honoraria, or compensation for expert testimony.
· Personal relationships, including personal closeness, other relevant relationships, or rivalries that may affect the independence of an assessment.
· Academic and intellectual interests, such as research competition or strong commitment to particular scientific viewpoints that may compromise objectivity.
· Institutional affiliations, referring to associations with specific institutions or organizations that may influence, or be perceived to influence, research findings and their interpretation.
Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest by Authors
Authors must disclose any relevant conflicts of interest when submitting a manuscript for publication consideration. If no conflicts of interest exist, authors are required to include the following statement:
“The authors declare that there is no conflict of interest.”
Relevant conflicts of interest that have not been disclosed may provide grounds for the editor to take action in accordance with the journal's policies. If such circumstances are identified after publication, the journal may conduct further evaluation and consider appropriate actions, including retraction or withdrawal of the article, based on the investigation findings and applicable policies.
Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest by Reviewers and Editors
Reviewers and editors are required to disclose any circumstances that may compromise their independence and impartiality during the peer-review process or editorial decision-making. Reviewers who have a conflict of interest must withdraw from reviewing the manuscript concerned. If a conflict of interest involves an editor, responsibility for handling the manuscript will be transferred to another editor who has no such conflict, in order to maintain the objectivity of the editorial process.
Transparency and Accountability
Information concerning disclosed conflicts of interest will be included in the final published article where relevant and in accordance with the journal's publication policies. This disclosure aims to provide readers with adequate information and maintain transparency throughout the publication process. Through the consistent implementation of its conflict-of-interest policy, Jurnal Pengabdian Pendidikan Masyarakat seeks to strengthen public trust, maintain publication credibility, and promote accountability in scholarly publishing.
