Post-Publication Discussion

Jurnal Pengabdian Pendidikan Masyarakat provides a platform for objective and constructive scholarly discussion of published articles. Post-publication discussion is part of the journal’s efforts to maintain the quality of scientific publications through critical evaluation, clarification, and the improvement of the scholarly record.

Submission of Comments

Readers may submit comments, questions, or evidence-based scholarly criticisms through the journal’s official Contact page:

https://ejournal.ummuba.ac.id/index.php/JPPM/CT/

A submission should identify the relevant article by its title and DOI or URL, clearly and specifically describe the issue being raised, and include relevant scientific evidence or references. Contributors are also required to disclose any relationships or interests that could potentially affect the objectivity of their comments. Confidentiality and the protection of individual identities must be maintained. Therefore, confidential information or information that could identify an individual must not be disclosed without a legitimate and appropriate basis.

Editorial Evaluation

All comments received are evaluated by the editorial team based on their relevance, clarity, academic merit, adequacy of supporting evidence, and compliance with the principles of publication ethics. Comments must focus on substantive aspects of the article, such as research findings, interpretation, methodology, or the presentation of evidence. Statements involving personal attacks, discrimination, the promotion of particular interests, or allegations unsupported by evidence will not be accepted. Where necessary to strengthen the evaluation process, the editor may seek advice from independent experts with relevant expertise in the issues under discussion.

Author Responses

Authors may be given the opportunity to respond to substantive comments concerning their published articles. Responses should be objective, address each issue raised directly, and include supporting evidence or references where necessary. If an author does not provide a response, the editorial team may still examine concerns supported by sufficient evidence and determine the appropriate follow-up actions.

Publication of Discussion Outcomes

Based on the results of the editorial evaluation, the journal may publish scholarly comments, author responses, editorial clarifications, or other relevant notices. All published discussion materials must be clearly identified and linked to the article under discussion. Substantive scholarly comments and responses may be subject to expert review, as appropriate. The publication of a comment does not necessarily indicate that the article under discussion contains errors, nor does it imply that the journal endorses all the views expressed by the contributor.

Concerns Requiring Investigation

Concerns involving unreliable research findings, inappropriate attribution, undisclosed conflicts of interest, or suspected violations of publication ethics will be handled in accordance with the applicable Complaints & Appeals and Publication Ethics policies. If an investigation indicates that amendments to the scholarly record are necessary, the journal will take appropriate action in accordance with its Corrections, Retractions & Withdrawal policy.

Documentation and Archiving

The editorial team is responsible for documenting and retaining all records relevant to the post-publication discussion process, including substantive comments, author responses, expert opinions, and resulting editorial decisions. The management and preservation of these records must be carried out with due regard for confidentiality and the protection of relevant data.
