IDENTIFIKASI KETERAMPILAN PROSES SAINS DI SMKN 1 HANAU: DIAGNOSA PADA PESERTA DIDIK BARU

Abstrak

Keterampilan proses sains (KPS) penting dalam pendidikan sains karena mendukung pemahaman konsep, berpikir kritis, dan kemampuan memecahkan masalah. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis KPS peserta didik baru di SMKN 1 Hanau, Kalimantan Tengah, sebagai diagnosis awal pembelajaran sains. Penelitian dilakukan secara deskriptif kuantitatif terhadap 111 peserta didik baru tahun ajaran 2024/2025, dipilih melalui teknik simple random sampling. Data diperoleh dari tes KPS, wawancara, dan dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif.Hasil menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan proses sains terintegrasi peserta didik berada pada kategori sangat rendah di semua aspek: identifikasi dan pengendalian variabel (34,1), perumusan hipotesis (33,5), definisi operasional (31,5), pembuatan grafik dan interpretasi data (30,2), serta perencanaan percobaan (36,8). Lebih dari 90% peserta didik tergolong sangat rendah, meskipun sebagian kecil menunjukkan hasil tinggi pada aspek grafik dan perencanaan eksperimen.Kesimpulannya, peserta didik membutuhkan perhatian lebih dalam pengembangan KPS melalui pembelajaran berbasis praktik dan inkuiri ilmiah. Pendekatan ini mendorong siswa aktif bertanya, merancang eksperimen, menganalisis data, serta mengaitkan temuan dengan konsep ilmiah secara logis dan sistematis
